Start or Sit Success Rate

Every Friday morning we hold a live chat on USAToday.com at 11AM to offer start or sit advice. Some of these decisions are often very difficult and the NFL is unpredictable but we decided to create this page so that you can track our success rate throughout the season. We measured our success based on standard WCOFF scoring (unless specified otherwise in the question).

We get 1 point for a correct pick and 0 points for an incorrect pick. If we had to pick between three players and our pick finished second then we get 0.5 points (we get 0.33 points if he finished third out of four).

Week Correct Partly Correct Incorrect Avg Score
1 6 1 7 0.464
2 16 8 7 0.648
3 13 11 7 0.599
4 13 7 6 0.644
5 10 7 10 0.508
6 8 5 12 0.403
7 20 6 11 0.637
8 11 4 5 0.646
9 9 6 8 0.544
10 14 7 7 0.658
11 18 8 6 0.690
13 8 6 9 0.487
14 18 5 6 0.723
Season 164 81 101 0.615

Based on our scoring system, if you were picking names from a hat you would have a score of 0.500 but since some questions are a little easier we would say that a score of 0.550 is average. We want to do better than that so our goal is to have a score of 0.600 at the end of the season.
